First of all, Cheers! and Welcome to my site!
This website started as a project for investigating JAMStacks. Now I use it as a kind of diary to share projects and findings. Hopefully you're here because you found one of my posts useful.
If you have questions you think I can help with, you're always welcome to reach out, my email and social media links are at the bottom of the site.
I live in Aarhus, Denmark, with my girlfriend. Professionally, I'm Chief Information Officer at DILLING, a company that produces and sells clothing with the environment in mind.
Most of my career hasn't been in the role as CIO but in business development, which is also my educational background. And what does a business developer actually do? That's a question I've heard from just about everyone who's ever asked about my work. Honestly, I get why it's hard to grasp, it's not the easiest thing to explain, but I'll give it a try.
I studied at Aarhus University for a degree in technology-based business development (civilingeniør). The programme aimed to build a foundation across every aspect of a business. Where most engineers develop deep expertise in a specific domain, electronics, construction, and so on, and economists focus on strategy and finance, business development bridges these disciplines. The goal is to provide a broader overview of the business while understanding the challenges that arise from different perspectives when implementing change.
In short: I'm the person who knows a little bit of everything. My typical work revolves around project management and identifying areas of improvement to move the business forward.
The CIO role is a natural extension of that, given how deeply technology is woven into every part of a modern company. The drive to constantly identify new trends and integrate them into the business, making sure everything runs like a well-oiled machine, is what keeps me going.
As long as I can remember, my motto has been: "Learn some of everything and everything of something."
